After great demand from people like you, we have added two cycle tours to our programmes this year. Both of these week long programmes are a little different from the norm in that they take you to some of the lesser known secrets of the country. With full vehicle support, for your personal baggage and any breakdowns, you will be led to discover some of our more subtle secrets. The only effort in this trip for you is the cycling
Our Canals and Rail trails tour takes you along some the country's little known canal paths looking at the industrial heritage of previous centuries, sometimes close to the modern world but at the same time detached in the tranquillity of the waterways with their amazing variety of wildlife. Then along the railway cycle trails of the beautiful Peak District stopping along the way to take in points of interest and maybe try your hand at a spot of climbing at one of the local crags.
Alternatively there is the great house tour visiting Stamford, Belton, Burghley, Willesthorpe and Tattershall Castle , the great seats of families of a time past. Rutland Water provides a peaceful break with the opportunity for some sailing. The week ends in Boston with an English tea party.
For both programmes you will cycle around 25 miles each day. Naturally there would be a convivial stop for lunch, as well as plenty of time to relax and reflect in the evening with your travel companions.
